The Asparagus Now newsletter! A digitised dollop of rock, fresh to your inbox every month.

No news!

That's right folks - absolutely nothing has happened in the world of Asparagus Now lately. Bass player Tom's been pootling around the sea in the Tall Ships race, so we're taking a week or two respite from gigging.

Fear ye not, normal service will be resumed by the end of July.

Asparagus Now Invade The Internet!

Those cheeky Asparag-ite chappies have done it again. After the initial success of the first Island Invasion' tour, they immediately found themselves knee deep in smouldering plans for rocking the island a second time, but no, this wasn’t enough - they wanted more, a gig of such size, amplitude, and sheer unbridled rockingness that after attending said gig, your great grandkids would still be rocking to it in 60 years' time.

That right, Asparagus Now are invading the Intertubes with a live gig via the Stamps Bistro web cam.

The gig will commence on July 5th, at 7pm. If you want a better view, we still highly recomend turning up and seeing it live!

Crosby Music Fest - video!

Just thought we'd say a quick thanks to everyone

who came to see us at the Crosby Music Festival on Sunday. The place was packed, it was superb to see so many people made it down! Fortunately, our two new songs were captured on camera for your,er...viewing pleasure. Check them out on the Asparagus Now youtube channel right now, if you so wish.

Isle Of Man GP Tour - dates!

We're currently making plans for our Isle Of Man GP Tour this summer -and things are looking very promising indeed.

So far, the 19th August - 26th August is a dead cert, but we're hoping to add additional dates on the in the coming weeks August. Further details shoud be available in June, including a rough rundown of the various towns and villages we'll be filling with noise. Watch this space!

Crosby Music Festival

Just a quick one to remind you all that we're taking part in this year's Crosby Music Festival this weekend. We're playing on Sunday 25th at The Village pub, at 2PM. For some reason we've been put on the 'original showcase' day, but we'll make the most of this opportunity to show off a few of our new songs/works-in-progress...a must for our regular fans!
Details are also available at the Stamps website.

Isle of Man - the first tour

Asparagus Now's triumphant mini-tour of Ellan Vannin, (better known to us mainlanders as the Isle of Man) simply couldn't have gone better!

We weren't there all that long, but in the space of a few days we made many friends and contacts, full of infectious enthusiasm for 'real' rock music.

In fact, Johnny Manxman has no idea how lucky he is - the island has a thriving and varied music scene, with some fantastic venues set in breathtaking scenery. All this topped off with a good pint of Bushy's or Okells makes for one hell of a memorable trip!

Expect a full write-up within the next few weeks, along with a multitude of photos and the recordings from our Manx Radio interviews; including an exclusive acoustic session live on Dan Davies' Saturday evening music show. You can also see what the press had to say about us (not much) here.

All the media should go up shortly, and adding your email address into the little white box at the top of the page should result in a notification email when the recordings and photos become available.

If you'd like us to keep you in the loop, you're more than welcome to sign up for our bi-monthly email newsletter on the Feedback page.

Stamps, The Old Bank, and other misadventures

This weekend should be a good 'un. On Saturday night, as usual, we'll be hammering out over an hour of non-stop rock at Stamps Bistro, kicking off around 7PM. Not a huge venue but always busy, with a great atmosphere and some quality ales. As ever, the vertically-challenged among you should get there a bit early to get near the front. Or alternatively, close your eyes and pretend you're watching a good-looking band....

No rest for the wicked though, because on Sunday we'll be taking the late shift in the Old Bank, starting around 8:30PM and playing until... well, until everyone gets kicked out, whatever time that may be. Entry is -of course- free and the beer's cheap too, so there's really no excuse not to miss this one (especially now Top Gear has finished). A good way to spend a Sunday evening, unless you're the kind who'd rather stay home to watch American Celebrity Dancing Idol On Ice's Got Talent than watch some high-calibre rock music. You miserable bugger.

See you there!
